Crow Cutoff Bridge

Crow Cutoff Bridge over Muddy Creek Replacement

Pueblo County, Colo.

SEH provided design, construction management services, and materials testing for this federally funded bridge replacement project. The new structure is a 96 ft., single-span, precast concrete girder bridge founded on cast-in-place caissons. A shoo-fly detour was constructed to maintain traffic during construction. The new bridge is wider, safely allowing for two lanes of traffic and shoulders. Approaches to the bridge were also widened and raised to accommodate the new bridge. Wetlands were an issue for this new bridge construction, and the design addressed stream corridor impacts and installed wetlands plantings. SEH’s construction management also included certified payroll compliance due to federal funding and roadway classification, erosion control management, traffic control management, quantity approval, and pay request management.
